How to be a better audience member

The responsibility for better presentations is not solely on the shoulders of presenters, but audiences as well. In order for our current state to improve, the PowerPoint culture we live in must be changed from its core. Audiences must demand effective communication and better presentations.

I encourage all audiences members to do expect greatness from those who present information. Listening to someone blabber on incoherently is simply a waste of time. Let's not allow this epidemic to carry on any longer. Talk to conference organizers, demand good presentation skills from students and peers, and, above all else, demand greatness from yourself.

Don't let PowerPoint hijack your audience member experience. Ask questions of the presenter if you have them, that's what the presenter is there for. Together, we can learn a lot, but only if we make the effort.
