{"id":67,"date":"2004-11-29T08:25:50","date_gmt":"2004-11-29T08:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/josh.ev9.org\/weblog\/?p=67"},"modified":"2004-11-29T08:25:50","modified_gmt":"2004-11-29T08:25:50","slug":"stuff-we-should-have-learned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/josh.ev9.org\/weblog\/archives\/67","title":{"rendered":"Stuff we should have learned&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve seen about 10 good examples of <a href=\"http:\/\/josh.ev9.org\/archives\/2004\/11\/23\/Really%20Awesome%20Displays.html\">Really Awesome Displays<\/a> (RADs) between going to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msichicago.org\/\">Museum of Science &amp; Industry<\/a> and just hanging out at school.  Anyone who doubts the onset of these technologies is, frankly, wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Last night E and I discussed the possibility of team teaching a course titled &#8220;Stuff we should have learned in our first semester of HCI School.&#8221;  There are so many very practical topics that we think should have been taught to us, but have not been.  Don&#8217;t get me wrong, we have learned a lot so far, but there are some more things that could be taught.  The idea right now is to either have an extracurricular group that meets semi-frequently, or to offer an actual 1 credit course for undergrads.  We&#8217;re gonna work on a syllabus before the break.
